In Chapter 1, I learned that studying behavior is important because it is what we can see and measure. If we only studied thoughts, we would not know how people act. Problems like overeating or even being shy are about behavior, and we can help by changing actions and not just thoughts. The chapter also showed that behavior is shaped by what happens around us, not just by what happens on the inside. And by looking how the environment affects actions, we can understand and help people change their behavior. My references are from the chapter slides.
